Unify Resources

In keeping with a long standing tradition, Unify will be closed during the holidays from December 24, 2008 to January 4, 2009. Closing for this period allows our employees to fully enjoy a vacation during the holidays, and rest and recharge for the new year. As a result, there will be no sales or support services available. We will have extremely limited Technical Support resources available for responding only to severe emergencies. We look forward to seeing you in the new year.

Team Developer 5.1 SP5 and Team Developer 5.2

We hear you! During the recent DevCons in Europe and North America, most of the Team Developer users told us they preferred to have another TD 5.1 Service Pack before finalizing Team Developer 5.2. The new Team Developer schedule will provide customers with a TD 5.1 service pack – SP5 – in early 2009, followed by Team Developer 5.2 currently scheduled for release in early Spring.

Also, we will launch the Team Developer 5.2 beta program during Q1 2009. More information regarding how to participate will be forthcoming.

Q is Coming Back

"Q is back" was one of the most highly attended session at the worldwide DevCons. Q is Unify’s modern interpretation of a successful tool named Quest. Q brings back powerful end-user data management, queries and reporting in a modern looking Office 2007 style application. Define a complex query with just a few mouse clicks; export the query results to csv, xml, Excel or tab delimited files. Load the exported data into other systems. Share the data with your colleagues and service agencies. Load csv, xml, Excel or text files into new or existing tables. Create new tables based on a query, fully fledged reporting and more. Stay tuned for more information about Q.

Unify Reports Second Quarter Results

Unify reported its second quarter fiscal 2009 results on Nov. 20, 2008. The Company announced another solid quarter of revenue growth and profitability. Highlights for the quarter included:

  • Revenues for the quarter were up 17% to $5.8 million.
  • Net income was $725,000 or $0.10 per fully diluted share, compared to net income of $692,000 or $0.10 per fully diluted share in the second quarter of last year.
  • Non-GAAP net income was $1.1 million or $0.14 per fully diluted share, compared to non-GAAP net income of $1.0 million or $0.15 per fully diluted share in the same quarter of last year.
  • Income from operations of $1 million
  • Cash flow from operations of $249,000
  • $1.4 million in Composer bookings
  • 26 new customers

During his quarterly call, Unify CEO Todd Wille stated, “We are delighted with the performance of our database and development software business – achieving 5% revenue growth and 8% bookings growth during the quarter. We believe this growth was driven by customers who are looking to maintain and upgrade their current applications instead of investing in new software packages or major application re-writes. We remain cautiously optimistic that the trends we are seeing will continue through the remainder of fiscal 2009.

“As part of this growth, we added 26 new software customers worldwide. The revenue generated from these new customers was approximately $88,000, with these new customers purchasing our Team Developer, SQLBase and NXJ products.

“During the quarter, we also held three successful user group conferences in Sacramento, Munich and Stockholm. The feedback we received indicated that customers are excited about the capabilities that will be available in new versions of our products to be released shortly. Our hard work to provide our customers with the updated products and services they require continues to pay dividends. “We also showcased our Team Developer, SQLBase and NXJ products to over 200 prospective customers during two weeks of seminars and tradeshows in Brazil in late October. We are seeing significant momentum in Latin America for Unify software and with our strong distributor partner in Brazil, we look forward to continued growth in this region.”
