Team Developer Future
Even with the exciting release of Team Developer 5.1 coming, Unify has already begun planning the product strategy for future releases of Team Developer. Most notably, is the plan to bring Microsoft .NET functionality to Team Developer, one of our most requested customer enhancements. We will be able to accomplish this sooner rather than later because of our recent acquisition of Active Data Corporation (ADC). ADC provides software that will add Microsoft .NET functionality to both Team Developer and SQLWindows applications.

“The acquisition of ADC clearly indicates our continued commitment and investment to future releases of Team Developer. The considerable knowledge and expertise of ADC will be leveraged to develop .NET technology and functionality in Team Developer,” said Todd Wille, CEO of Unify Corporation.

We want to enable customers to continue to leverage their investments in Team Developer code on the .NET platform. Our plans for the Team Developer roadmap are being developed and will be presented across the world at various Devcon events during October and November of this year.

The ADC technology also allows us to offer code migration projects from Team Developer to .NET. In cases where organizations have made the decision to only use NET languages in the future, Unify will be happy to discuss your requirements and, if you are already considering third party porting applications, we will provide you with a highly competitive alternative solution.

As our .NET strategy matures you may well find that Team Developer .NET offers you either a short term, or even a long term viable business proposition, especially given the fact that migration projects cost significantly more than upgrades to Team Developer .NET releases in the future.

SQLBase 11 Update
SQLBase 11 is in beta and on schedule. Soon you will be able to leverage the new locking models of SQLBase 11 to increase your transaction and reporting throughput significantly. Internal TPC-B benchmark testing showed a 2.6 times increase of transaction throughput in SQLBase 11 and a 7 times reporting acceleration. SQLBase 11 also features new auto increment columns for automated unique key generation. The SQLBase 11 automatic database update feature allows you to easily deploy the product to your installed base without the need of manual interaction to update the databases.

NXJ Developer 12 Coming in Fall 2007
Our exciting new version of NXJ Developer features many customer driven enhancements. NXJ Developer 12 is the leading Rapid Application Development tool for Java based Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) development and Rich Internet Applications (RIA). NXJ 12 will plug in the industry standard Eclipse IDE, so developers familiar with Eclipse can use the superior productivity of NXJ in the environment they work in everyday. Example features and benefits of NXJ Developer 12 include:

  • Native deploy without interaction server to speed up the deployment process
  • Updated Ajax Web 2.0 components
  • Enhanced Dojo support for better Ajax client interaction
  • Based on JDK 1.5
