NXJ BPM, the Structured Way to Modern Business Applications

Convergence and synthesis often produce something radically new. Years ago, moving pictures and radio converged, and the result: television. Television forever changed the world.

Business Process Management (BPM) is a synthesis of process representation and collaboration technologies that removes obstacles blocking the execution of management intentions. BPM is therefore the convergence of management theory – total quality management, Six Sigma, business engineering and general systems thinking – combined with modern technologies – application development, systems integration, computation, service-oriented architecture, workflow, transaction management, XML and Web Services.

For the first time in business history, this synthesis makes it possible for companies to do what they have wanted to do all along – manage their business processes with great agility. A company lacking vision cannot benefit from BPM, but those who have this vision may now use BPM to execute their strategy with speed and precision. The radical breakthrough lies in using process calculus to define the digital representation of business processes, the basis for new corporate information assets.

NXJ Enterprise has powerful a BPM engine that allows you to graphically design the process flow. Process work units are given roles to assign work units to specific groups in an organization. For example only Sales people can approve incoming orders. All application functionality to support roles is built into NXJ Enterprise and can be used without programming application code. Powerful admin tools let developers and managers view how many active processes there are and what steps these processes are currently at. The admin capabilities help management improve execution of internal processes by finding and removing bottlenecks in the workflow.

Use NXJ to Provide SQLBase Data to Mobile Devices

NXJ Web Services provide a powerful and easy to use interface for Mobile devices, regardless of their Operating System and system architecture. For instance, Apple’s new iPhone 3G or Windows Mobile computers can easily access NXJ Web Services. For Windows Mobile, the .NET Compact Framework is used to call NXJ Web Services.

For iPhone, Apple xcode development environment is utilized to write iPhone applications that access NXJ Web Services.

NXJ offers powerful Web Services generation wizards. With just a few mouse clicks, the NXJ Web Services wizards can create a powerful data Web Service for SQLBase tables. Just tell the NXJ Web Services wizard what table to use. The wizard then creates Web Services that provides interfaces to all database activities like Update, Insert, Delete and Select for the chosen table and all its dependent tables.

See how easy that is, follow the step by step guide below:

Step 1: Choose the master table for the Web Service

Step 2: Choose columns of master and detail tables

Step 3: NXJ has generated the fully functional Web Service

Step 4: Deploy the Web Service to the NXJ App Server (One mouse click)

Step 5: Use Apple xcode or .NET Compact Framework to create applications that call the NXJ Web Service from iPhone 3G or Windows Mobile computers

Step 6: Deploy your applications to your mobile workforce
