Unify Newsletter June 2009

Get ready for Unify Q! (formerly Quest)

Q Activities

Building on its strong database history, Unify Q is coming back to bring easy to use queries, reporting and data management for end users. Building upon the success of GUPTA’s Quest, Unify Q is for tasks such as querying the latest data and providing that data as PDF document. Q is for unloading database tables and uploading the data into other systems or loading data from Excel into databases. Q helps employees to always have the latest data points for decision support and to exchange data with other systems or agencies for example to support outsourced marketing campaigns. And of course all the database connectivity power Unify owns is included in Q. Build a complex query in an Oracle database and use the query results to create a new table in a SQLBase database. Or move query results from SQLBase to SQL Server, Unify Q is there to get your job done.

Q Activities Ribbon

Q simplifies end-user data access, leading to higher productivity of your enterprise. Using the intuitive user interface of Unify Q, users can create Queries, Reports and Business Graphs with just a few mouse clicks. Reports and Graphs can be shared using PDF documents. Data can be exported in several formats and shared with other users, systems or agencies. Advanced users can be given access to edit database content and to create their own tables and manage their data.

Unify Q in Read-Only Mode

Upon installation of Q, administrators can set Unify Q to read only mode, such disallowing changes to the databases Q has access to. User using the read only version of Unify Q can only view data but cannot change data or add data to the databases they have access to.

Unify Q in Power User Mode

Advanced users get all the power they need to get their complex data management tasks done. From powerful Queries, Reports, data import and export to full database catalog access.

We anticipate Q to be available this summer.
