Team Developer 5.2 New GUI Options New Brilliant GUI The new GUI features are designed to be useful to the end user and to the developer. Developers can set the properties of the new GUI objects at design time and also programmatically at application runtime. Fully Themed IDE With TD 5.2, developers gain a totally new usage experience. The IDE fully leverages grids and themed dialogs for all available features. New Grid The grid offers new powerful graphical and easy usage cell types to create very easy to use and intuitive applications. New cell types include image cells, button cells, hyperlink cells and progress cells. The grid also features powerful built-in sorting and grouping functionality plus a quick print preview and print feature. New Buttons Create your own corporate application design themes using button layouts of your choice. The new TD 5.2 button properties allow users to set the image and text relation. Additionally the text and the image position can be defined in the respective text or image area. All these properties can be set at design time and use with property functions at runtime. Enhanced Tab Control This enchanced feature increases developer productivity through a comprehensive set of new functions to manipulate tabs and objects on tabs. Enhanced Ribbon Bar Users can leverage the improved ribbon bar to create intuitive, high usability applications. Ribbon bars give users quick access to the features of the application. Team Developer 5.2 Programming Enhancements *High Developer Productivity* Tooltip property for every object: Settable in Attribute inspector and via new SalSetTooltip() function. Compiler warnings: More guidance for developers on what features are deprecated and how they should be replaced. DB connections on the fly: Add power usability to applications by allowing finding and using available DBs on a machine without them being configured in sql.ini. Web Services security: Use powerful Web Service security when calling Web Services from applications. Several security models including WS-Security the full blown standard are supported. Binary data type: Provides logical separation for long text and binary data for more structured and well designed application code. Updated CDK: The CDK fully supports all new objects introduced in TD 5.1 and TD 5.2. Enhanced paper tray management: Fully leverage print driver capabilities. Find and use virtual tray names from printer drivers to print to stationery, regardless of where the stationery tray is located in the printer. Enhanced PDF generation: Control the size of the generated PDF by defining image resolution and inclusion of fonts into PDF documents. Vista HTML help support: Use the new Windows Vista HTML help standard for your Team Developer applications. Includes full backward compatibility. Messaging interface for data and datetime pickers: Add data validation when using date and date-time picker objects. Internal image storage: Easy application deployment without extra image files. Report Builder 5.2 *Powerful new design features and enhanced usability* Report Builder 5.2 includes new powerful report design and text automation capabilities. Reports can now be designed using text rotation and watermarks. Watermarks can be either text or images including a full set of formatting options. The new rich text object allows creating documents and reports from predefined formatted text blocks stored in a database or files. The Report Builder IDE offers a complete new themed IDE for a seamless and modern product experience.
