Calling .NET from Win32 Apps

With all of the overwhelming .NET features of TD 6.0 .NET, one could almost forget that Win32 apps can leverage .NET too. TD 6.0 introduces a new powerful way to call .NET Classes from Win32 and .NET apps. So if you upgrade your existing TD applications to TD 6.0 Win32 first, you can still call .NET functionality from your TD 6.0 Win32 apps. This will set the foundation for a upgrading your entire application to .NET when you’re ready.

For example, one can replace Win32 External calls into DLLs with calls into the .NET framework. Team Developer 6.0 has a new Global Assembly Interface Layer (GAIL) that allows calling .NET classes from any build type without code changes at all. Developers can simply leverage .NET classes from their code without any need to think about what platform this application will run on.

Whatever path you choose, Unify AXS-One’s archive solution can help reduce the volume of email that has to be processed in the migration, allowing users continued access to their entire historical email database.
