What is the Unify/GUPTA Development Innovation Award?

Unify/GUPTA is proud to introduce the Development Innovation Awards. These awards will provide an opportunity for our customer and partner community to share their story and be recognized for their commitment to innovation by extending Unify/GUPTA technologies. The Development Innovation Awards will recognize technological achievements that showcase both creative thinking and determined problem solving. We will honour the individuals and companies who have forged new ground and used Unify/GUPTA solutions in inspiring ways.

We want to hear how our development community has used Unify/GUPTA solutions to improve existing processes, overcome technology challenges and enhance legacy applications. Winning projects from four categories will be recognized at the Unify/GUPTA Central European Developers Conference 2007 in Munich. A winner will be selected for each category by the Unify/GUPTA panel and presented with an award at a special awards ceremony at the Developers Conference.

Submit your project for the Unify/GUPTA Development Innovation Awards (Deadline 14.09.2007).

Step 2
Submissions are judged by a panel of judges and a winner selected in each category.

Step 3
The Unify/GUPTA Development Innovator selected by the panel is announced at the Unify/GUPTA Developers Conference on October 16th, 2007.

What are the benefits of being named a Unify/GUPTA Development Innovation Award winner?

As a Unify/GUPTA Development Innovation Award winner, you'll receive (one winner awarded in each category):

  • One complimentary admission to the Central European Developers Conference in Munich. Includes two days of conference (without hotel). (If you've already purchased your conference registration, we'll reimburse you, should you win.)
  • Innovation Award presentation with a profile of your company and solution at the Developers Conference
  • Opportunity to highlight the accomplishments of you and your team
  • A press release from Unify/GUPTA
  • Promotion on the Unify/GUPTA website
  • An award to showcase at your business site

Award Categories

Unify/GUPTA Development Innovation Awards will be presented for each of the following categories. A panel of judges will select one winner from each of the categories below.

  • Team Developer User Interface: The application with the freshest and most up-to-date look.
  • Best Web Application: Most intuitive to use and artistic Web application.
  • Most Innovative Application: Most advanced technology and integration.
  • Most increased Return of Investment: an innovative approach to drive out cost and achieve measurable ROI as a result of implementing a Unify/GUPTA solution. Results could include financial return or percentage increase in productivity, yield, efficiency, quality or performance.

To be eligible for the Unify/GUPTA Development Innovation Award, you must meet the following criteria:
  • Submissions are open to all Unify/GUPTA partners and the development community worldwide.
  • Solutions must be live or in production.
  • You may submit as many Unify/GUPTA applications for consideration as you'd like.
  • Each application must be submitted as a separate nomination.

Important dates:
  • June 11, 2007- The 2007 awards officially launched
  • September 14, 2007 - Last day for submission
  • October 08, 2007 - Category winners announced
  • October 16, 2007 - Unify/GUPTA Development Innovation Award winners will be presented at the Unify/GUPTA Developers Conference in Munich, October 15-17, 2007.

How will award winners be selected?
Each application will be reviewed by a panel of judges with one winner selected by the judges for each of the categories. Submissions will be judged based on the following criteria:
  • Creativity: What new or innovative ways were you able to use Unify/GUPTA technology?
  • Impact:
    • How were existing processes improved or new processes successfully implemented by the project?
    • How many and what latest technology was used and implemented?
    • What technology challenges needed to be overcome to achieve this goal?
    • What can the business do today with the Unify/GUPTA technology that it couldn't do before?
    • Was there a measurable return on investment (ROI) and increase in competitive advantage generated by the project?
  • Presentation: Was the submission articulate and concise?

Judges will select one winner from each category.
