Approach to Migration
Composer offers a unique metric-driven approach to an application migration strategy.
Unify collaborates with customers to determine the number of Notes applications
suited for migration in order to minimize the project costs and schedule. In order
to deliver a fixed fee/fixed scope engagement, the Composer solution incorporates
a metric-driven approach whereby customers are able to verify that the objectives
defined as critical for the project are achieved. This process sets Unify apart
from competitors as does our methodology of Analyze, Refine, Target (ART).
ART helps to determine the real cost of migrating the complex applications:
- Analyze - discreet Notes application at the business logic and
component level to facilitate intelligent and logical decisions for the most feature
rich and cost effective migration.
- Refine - identifies application attributes including forms, views,
agents, etc. that may not require migration. Unify and the customer confirms which
of those attributes are needed to meet the business requirements in the .NET platform.
Only the code that is needed to preserve the business functionality is migrated
resulting in a cleaner migration.
- Target – the appropriate platform, either ASP.NET or SharePoint-Infopath
for hosting the newly migrated Notes applications.
